| What is First Night?
First Night is a close-harmony cabaret group specialising
in quality musical entertainment for a large variety
of venues and functions, with an extensive repertoire
of material from stage and screen musicals old and
new, through opera and jazz.
Who are First Night?
Artists who appear with First Night have starred
in the West End, toured with opera companies and
between them have notched up stage appearances that
number well into the thousands. There are members
of First Night currently appearing, or who have
recently appeared in Les Miserables, Cats, Phantom
of the Opera, with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company
and with English Festival Opera.
What kind of entertainment?
First Night can provide you with a show piece of
any length according to your own particular needs,
from a full length staged show entitled "First
Night on Broadway" to a short cabaret spot
consisting of songs of your choice taken from our
repertoire list.
First Night's repertoire includes medleys from
shows such as Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Titanic,
42nd Street, The King and I; medleys of songs based
on a common theme such as "Love", "Heat",
"Transport", "Fred and Ginger"
and arrangements of songs such as "The Rose",
"I Got Rhythm", "What I Did for Love",
"Over the Rainbow", "Try to Remember"
and "Somewhere". All of these have been
arranged exclusively for First Night by the group's
Musical Director, Simon Gray, and are guaranteed
not to have been performed by anyone else.

Apart from the quality of the performance, the main
strength of First Night is the group's depth of
experience and flexibility. Our shows have been
performed in theatre's, hotels, social clubs, private
parties, corporate events and charity functions.
From this wealth of experience, combined with each
group member's individual performing accomplishments,
we can put together a repertoire tailored exclusively
to fit your function, whatever the format or size.
